Amerika'nın en prestijli yayın organlarından The New York Times, sinema dünyasından 500’den fazla isme 21. yüzyılın en iyi filmlerini sordu. Oyunculardan yönetmenlere, yapımcılardan senaristlere kadar farklı meslek gruplarından profesyonellerin oylarıyla belirlenen "Son 25 Yılın En İyi 100 Filmi" listesi açıklandı.
Güney Kore sineması zirvede
Listede ilk sırayı, 2019 yılında En İyi Film Oscar’ını kazanan ve İngilizce dışındaki bir film olarak bu ödülü kazanan ilk yapım olan “Parasite” aldı. Bong Joon-ho’nun yönettiği film, üzerinden geçen yıllara rağmen etkisini kaybetmediğini bir kez daha kanıtladı.
Parasite'ı takip eden yapımlar arasında Mulholland Drive, There Will Be Blood ve No Country for Old Men gibi modern klasikler dikkat çekti. Öte yandan listeye Türkiye’den herhangi bir yapımın girememesi ise gözlerden kaçmadı. Daha önce bu tür sıralamalarda yer bulan Nuri Bilge Ceylan imzalı Bir Zamanlar Anadolu’da ve Uzak bu listede kendine yer bulamadı.
