STATE OF EMERGENCY
The government placed the powers granted by the Decree-Laws of the State of Emergency period into the omnibus with the hope to extend it for 3 more years on the grounds of “fighting terrorism” and sent this to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
With the law expected to be passed by the Parliament, President Erdoğan will be able to use the same authorities until 2023. The opposition criticized this demand with these words, “He wants to govern the country under the conditions of the state of emergency”.

HYPER INFLATION
June inflation data showed that the gap between Consumer and Producer inflation reached a very high level and the difference exceeded more than 25 points. The opposition said, “It is seen that the annual price increases of more than 300 goods, products and services in the inflation basket of TURKSTAT have reached the level of 4-5 times the official inflation rate. These data show that we have entered into the process of 'hyper inflation'".

EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT
In the draft resolution approved by the European Parliament with 603 votes to 2, the pressures on the opposition in Turkey, the blocking/preventing the success of opposition municipalities, and the political restrictions that were intended to be imposed on the opposition leaders were put on the agenda. It was agreed that the positive agenda between the EU and Turkey would be conditional on taking steps towards improvement in the fields of human rights, the rule of law, women's and children's rights and judicial independence.

AFGHANISTAN PROBLEM
While negotiations for the protection and management of Kabul Airport in the capital of Afghanistan by the Turkish Armed Forces were accelerated, US President Biden announced that he had moved the withdrawal date of the US troops forward in this country to August 31. While the Taliban delegation held talks in Moscow, it declared that 85% of the country was under their control. It was recorded as a significant development that Iran brought the Taliban and the Afghan administration together in Tehran in return for Turkey's mission in Kabul.

THE TURMOIL IN LIBYA DOESN'T END
In response to the memorandum of understanding announced after the Berlin Conference in Libya, 75 delegates who attended the meeting, representing different regions of the country, at the meetings held under the auspices of the UN in Geneva last week, dispersed without reaching a consensus. The United Nations (UN) said in a statement, "There was no consensus on the controversial issues regarding the constitutional basis of the December 24 elections, which were previously agreed among the members of the LPDF (Libyan Political Dialogue Forum).” Such a situation, means that the civil war continues for many years and that this oil-rich country and the Mediterranean become more destabilized.
