"Bilgi University" in mediation contest

Istanbul Bilgi University Participates in the 17th ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition   The seventeenth edition of the ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition, the largest organization in the field of education of the International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”), aiming to train well-equipped and internationally visionary mediators, will take place on February 7-15, 2022.  Istanbul Bilgi University, as the only Turkish university, became one of the 48 universities worldwide to qualify for this competition.  

The team that will represent Bilgi University consists of Law Faculty students Ayşegül Dağhan, Helin Erol, Kaan Özkan, Sena Şahan and Sıdıka Ilgaz Duman. The coaching of  students prepared for the competition by The Solution platform, which works on alternative dispute resolution methods (“ADR”) within the Faculty of Law, was provided by Atty. Arb. Ferda Canözer Paksoy,  graduate Yaman Gürsel and  student Damla Özbay as an assistant coach,  faculty member Dr. Candan Yasan Tepetaş, as the administrative coordinator, supports our students in this process.  

Students herald that a generation that will make a difference in the field of ADR in the future, with the training they received from Aşiyan Süleymanoğlu, Meltem Ersoy, Nurseli Tamer, Sezil Durmuş, Aloysius Goh, Low Lih Jeng, and Sage Mediation team, who are experts in the field of ADR, during the preparation process for the competition.  Our team’s opponent will be the University of Georgia’s team for the first round of the competition which will take place on February 8th.
